Orlando poster in Galaxie
posted by Jas, 09/19/03
Peiyu reports: There is a Orlando poster in the big Malaysian magazine, which features him carrying an anvil and stuff in POTC costume. The picture is not new and all, but at least it's not a A4-size poster and quite a decent-sized one (one page of the magazine). The magazine is selling at only S$2, and I saw it at Kinokuniya (it's sold elsewhere too, not difficult to find because of its size). The cover is of Michelle Branch and it's a black background. I think Orlando and Johnny Depp were on the front cover the last issue. Update: Peiyu wrote: I was at Kino today again and they've just changed the old magazine to another person (not Michelle Branch) so I guess that was the old issue I saw yesterday.

Orlando in Teen Vogue

Fallen Angel reports that Orlando is in the Talking Fashion section of the October/November issue of Teen Vogue magazine:
Orlando Bloom: Lately it seems like Orlando has been taking is pirate post to heart. To the usual slacker-cutie pants-and-T-shirt, combo he adds leather cuff, a buccaneer-worthy band of necklaces and of course, just a bit of swashbuckler swagger. But those bandit eyes are still his best accessory.
Billie Piper didn't fancy Orlando
The People
Billie Piper didn't fancy heart-throb Orlando Bloom when they starred in The Calcium Kid. She said: "He's sexy on film but in real life, you don't go 'Ooh sex appeal'."
Rollercoaster ride
Mid-Day
Pirates… is indeed a rocking rollercoaster ride – which you almost feel you're on. Apart from the visual effects and animation, it's really Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow who steals the show. Keira Knightley is certainly going places after her role in Bend It Like Beckham and fares well in the company of such accomplished actors as Depp, Rush and Jonathan Pryce. Bloom, the toast of Hollywood after his performances in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, is blossoming well too.
A treasure chest of talk for landlubbers
The State
Ahoy, mateys! That's pirate talk, by the way, for "Good morning, readers." And there's a very good reason we're speaking pirate today, which happens to be a holiday of growing significance. We're referring, of course, to Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Topps - New "Two Towers" trading cards reviewed!
LordoftheRingsGuide.com
Just like last year's "'Fellowship of the Ring' Collector's Update Edition," this set collects images that were not released to the public prior to the movie's debut at the request of director Peter Jackson. In this case, that means we get finally get cards with images of Gandalf's struggle with the Balrog, the wraiths of The Dead Marshes, the transformation of King Theoden, strange animals the Oliphaunts, Wargs, and Fellbeasts, the deliberative treeherders the Ents, and Gollum! I mean Smeagol. I mean Gollum! I mean Smealgol. Both of 'em, actually.

Ring Wrap
E! Online
For the past few years, New Line has brought out their big guns for The Lord of the Rings stuff (Elijah Wood typically shows up unannounced, this year being no different), even having Ian McKellen show up, to the delight of thousands. This year, as the trilogy winds to its epic conclusion with Return of the King, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, Andy Serkis and WETA's Richard Taylor showed up. Naturally, we caught up with Astin before the panel.

LOTR, POTC, Orlando on eBay

Barbara reports: I was checking out listings on eBay for Orlando in "Pirates", and as Legolas in "LOTR," and the movies themselves. There are 1189 listings for "Pirates" items, 9439 for "Lord of the Rings," 1221 for Orlando himself and 1096 for Legolas. The Will Turner character has 9 listings (this as of 6 p.m. US Central Time). Some are to bid only, some "buy it now" only and some a combination of both. There is an amazing variety, something for every collector, and definitely worth a look.
