Comic Con: Troy review
Ain't It Cool
Harry has posted this short review of Troy footage shown at the Comic Con 2003:
A quick compilation of scenes and behind the scenes clips was shown. This movie is going to make so much bank. It looks amazing. Huge cast, epic scope, beautiful cinematography. If they cut the trailer in around the same way as they cut these clips the masses are going to get very excited. Brad Pitt looks totally in place. The big build up leads to the revelation of the Trojan Horse being pulled into the city of Troy and the greeks dropping out. Mark my words, this film is going to make a shitload of money... thank God with the budget they have.

POTC feature in Creative Screenwriting magazine
    posted by Elizabeth
Elizabeth wrote: Just writing to let you know that while I was perusing a bookstore (in the US) I found "Creative Screenwriting" magazine, featuring POTC on the cover. Inside they cover the story behind the script and characters and such... wasn't able to see if they discuss Orli, but this may be a good mag for the POTC fans. Keep up the great work on the site..it's beautiful!

    posted by Jill
Jill reports: Hey there! Apparently the big news in town is the Gen Con game fair, being held here in Indianapolis, Indiana next weekend (July 26-27). Scheduled to appear, among others, are Sean Astin (signing autographs on Saturday from 1pm-3pm, Sunday 1:30pm-3:30pm; holding a Q&A session 3pm-4pm Saturday; sitting in the Guests of Honor booth 10am-12:30pm--day not mentioned) and John Rhys Davies (same events and times as Sean, but with one added Q&A session, and 2 days in the GOH booth). For more info, you can go to the gencon.com website, or to the local newpaper site, IndyStar. I wish I could make it to see Sean and John, but I can't...hopefully our other LOTR-ers will get there and make them feel welcome! =)

Short clip of Orlando on new 'Celebrity Extra'
    posted by Irene
Irene reports: The latest edition of ‘Celebrity Extra’ (UK) has some little clips of Orlando at last week’s London premiere of POTC - not enough to go dashing for your vcrs though. It’s in the first half of the programme. There’s quite a lot of coverage of the celebrities at the premiere, but hardly any Orlando. There’s a shot of him standing for photo calls with Keira Knightley, and giving her a couple of kisses and then there’s a close-up of him & he says: “The biggest challenge?….(licking his lips as he thinks about it)… Probably the sword fighting. Does that sound boring?” (gives the interviewer a big grin) The next airings of this ‘Celebrity Extra’ edition (Living TV, Sky channel 112) will be on today only, Sunday 20 July at 4:35pm, 7:40pm. The programmes are repeated one hour later on Living TV +1 (Sky channel 113).

Cass reports: The July issue of TOPP magazine has an A4 picture of Orlando. Not sure whether it's new or not (think it's not?), but the white dog (from last time I scanned a big poster for you) is with him again. The pic is for this "hot hunk" competion the mag had, where the readers could vote in their favorites. Orlando came in fourth :-(
