Fan's review of The Two Tower Trailer

For Singapore fans, The Lord Of The Rings movie is shown in theatres on Thursday, a day ahead than anywhere else in the world, here's a review from a fan.

I know the Straits Times had reported that the re-release of FOTR was scheduled for the 29th of Mar, but I had spotted an ad 4 it in today's papers & went for the 1 p.m. screening at Orchard Cineleisure. The staff r extremely clueless & might tell u that there is no such footage, but ps. don't be fooled - I think they were just not informed.

Notable moments :

1) It starts with 2 lines : "This Christmas...The adventure continues..."

2) Aragorn picks up a leaf-brooch & we're off on a breathtaking journey!

3) There r various shots of the 3 Riders : running over a sun-drenched cliff-top, over fields etc. 4 Legolas fans, there is a close-up of him, showing his blue eyes wonderfully, which may not have been that evident in FOTR.

4) The 3 Riders re-unite with Gandalf the White (with significantly less wrinkles!), who appears in a blazing light. Aragorn, Gimli & Legolas had already gotten themselves into battle-ready position, but there is a knowing smile on Legolas's face as he fits an arrow to his bow. Gandalf greatly resembles Saruman, clad in a flowing white robe & looks really magnificient, riding atop Shadowfax.

5) The willowy Eowyn appears & gets into a teasing swordfight with Aragorn, which resembles the sparring between Catherine Zeta-Jones & Antonio Banderas in Zorro.

6) There r several shots of Faramir, a diseased-looking Wormtongue(4 that, the Makeup dept. should get another Oscar!) & Theoden.

7) Galadriel re-appears.

8) Haldir re-appears with several Elf archers, perched atop the city walls of Gondor. Drenched with rain, Legolas, Gimli & Aragorn look down on hundreds of orcs advancing towards the city in the cover of darkness. U would be able to c the Net shots of Legolas fending off Orcs viciously & Aragorn charging into battle with sword held high.

9) Fans of Aragorn would love him even more in TTT. He has an almost kingly air, fights with unbridled ferocity & determination & bravely leads the troops of Elves & Men into battle. 1 line that Gandalf said sent shivers down my spine : "Sauron is afraid of Aragorn. He is afraid of what he will become."

10) Pippin clings onto what appears to be a tree, when suddenly an eye appears in the bark & I realise this is our 1st glimpse of an ENT!

11) The closing shot is of a back view of Gollum hovering over the sleeping Frodo & Sam & murmuring something abt. stealing the Ring from the "evil hobbitsessss"

12) There is a bizzare shot of a pale Arwen (dressed in red) being laid to rest. In the bk, Aragorn dies 1st b4 Arwen fades away. But he has yet to reclaim his throne by TTT, so I find this part extremely bewildering.
