Many dream about becoming a movie star but few actually think that dream will come true. Orlando Bloom, Legolas in "Lord of the Rings", is a living proof that a "nobody" can become an international celebrity, over just one night.

Orlando a 25-year old from Britain, decided early he wanted to become an actor. Rumours say that it was when Orlando realised that Christofer Reeves wasn't Superman in real life, but that he was an actor, when Orlando made his decision. As a 20-year old he moved to London. He had a couple of small roles in tv-shows untill he got a small part in "Wilde" 1997. This generated in all kinds of movie offerings but Orlando chose drama school instead.

When he later heard that Peter Jacksson and his team traveled around the world to find the right actors for Tolkiens triology "Lord of the Rings", Orlando decided to give it a try. Audition and six months of sweaty waiting before the results came: he got the part as the elf Legolas. He had succeeded. Something that also resulted in the opportunity to play a role in Ridley Scotts "Black Hawk Down". Cool!

- On my wrist. People got them everywhere and I think Elijah (Wood) got his on his stomach, which is kind of unusual.

-I don't care much about the money at all. Frankly, if I get the chance to kiss someone in a movie, they wouldn't need to pay me at all.

The scene in "LOTR" were he shoots 3 arrows in a row
- Yep, that was really me. I was doing it all but they put the arrows in afterwards. I pulled out the first one and, I think that day I shot off like 50 or so arrows. The arrows were dangerous and they got off in all sort of directions. So they put in the arrows CG (computer animated) afterwards.
