Before the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, British actor Orlando Bloom was almost a complete unknown - and now he's one of the internet's hottest stars.

Techies at IMDbPro.com, a service for showbiz professionals from the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com), say their STARmeterTM market research tool ranks Bloom as one of the most sought-after people in their database since The Fellowship Of The Rings opened in America, and he has held the number one slot for the last eight consecutive weeks.

IMDb Pro manager Barnaby Dorfman explains, "STARmeter isn't based on a random sampling. It's based on the cumulative actual searches of over 10 million unique users who visit IMDb.com each month."

As proof of Bloom's amazing popularity, Dorfman says, the IMDb contains information on over 300,000 films and over a million people who were credited on them, meaning that Bloom has consistently beat out over a million other people, including more recognizable names like Rings co-star Elijah Wood and Black Hawk Down co-star Josh Hartnett.
