The sentiments could apply to any fantasy, especially those of the movie kind. Film is a medium of wonder and wizardry, manipulating light and sound to touch emotions and inspire imaginations. It would follow that fantasy films, with their mysterious worlds and bizarre characters, would be the ultimate expression of the art: What could be more creative than crafting something entirely out of our heads?

The veteran British stage and screen thespian, whose twinkle-eyed Bilbo Baggins was so enchanting in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," has played Napoleon twice before -- in "Time Bandits" and the TV production "Napoleon and Love." In "The Emperor's New Clothes," he is both Napoleon and Eugene, and he reveals the humanity under the former's pomposity and the pomposity under the latter's humanity.
