Move over Leonardo, there's a new kid in town.
Just as DiCaprio exploded on to the media scene after the release of Titanic, a similar phenomenon has started since the release of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. No, It's not heart-throbs Sean Bean or Viggo Mortensen who have created the swirl of interest, but little-known British actor Orlando Bloom.
According to Statistics, Bloom has now become the most sought-after name among computer buffs surfing the net. Pro.imdb.com, a research service which is part of the Internet Movie Database, says that their STARmeter ranking system has put Bloom in the number one spot for the past eight weeks in a row.
And just to prove how hot he is, the site contains information on over a million actors, actresses and industry names. That means he's the most popular of over a million people, including the likes of Pearl Harbor star Josh Hartnett and Russell Crowe. And it isn't Bloom who's rigging the figures. In a recent interview, he said he doesn't even use the Internet and doesn't have an email address.
